Katelyn Norman
- Katelyn Norman, like many 14-year-olds, deeply wanted to attend her first prom. She listed the milestone dance on her bucket list of experiences she wanted most after her doctor told her she would not survive her two-year struggle with bone cancer. Katelyn was too weak to attend the prom planned especially for her. Instead, her Campbell County community organized a heart-shaped candlelight vigil outside her hospital room, as friends and family — including a date in a white suit — held a prom just for Katelyn inside. Katelyn died Friday morning, leaving loved ones to celebrate her life, mourn her loss and know they made at least one of her dreams come true.
