Here's your heartless bureaucrat story of the day. Cleveland area high-schooler Austin Fisher has missed 16 days of class this year to take care of his cancer-stricken mother, and now the Carrollton High student can't walk with his peers at graduation. Austin, who surpassed the school district's 14-day limit for unexcused absences by taking his mom, Teresa, to her cancer treatments, told Cleveland FOX affiliate WJW that he "wouldn't change" anything he's done. His classmates have started an online petition to fight for him that has racked up more than 7,600 signatures to date. Let's see how those numbers add up for the bean-counters in the Draconian district's front office.
